Today's Reward Program Review is FETCH REWARDS. I like this one because it is SIMPLE. If you think that reward programs like ibotta are too complicated or take up too much of your time, then give Fetch Rewards a try!

The main function of Fetch Rewards is to give you points (which are redeemable for gift cards) for scanning your grocery receipts.

*You get a 25 point scan receipt bonus for any receipt, even if there are no redeemable items on your receipt.
*You get points based on the item prices for purchases on your receipt from their participating brands, such as Oscar Mayer, Kraft, Pepsi, Knorr, Lay's, Scott, Ruffles, Huggies, Hershey's, Kleenex, Lipton, and many many more.
*You can get even more points by stacking bonus offers that rotate from these brands.  For example, right now you can get an extra 2,500 points when you spend $15 on Planters nuts, an extra 500 points when you purchase any Baker's Chocolate product, or an extra 1,400 points when you spend $8 on Pepsi (to name a few)

You can cashout anytime that you have enough points to purchase a reward, which starts at 3,000 points/$3 gift card.

Biggest Pros:
  • Super Easy! Unlike other receipt apps, this one doesn't make you select offers or find what you bought from their list. You simply scan EVERY grocery receipt, and it gives you points. You literally don't even have to know what brands they are working with or what the bonuses are at the moment in order to earn rewards.
  • Low cashout of $3 means you can start benefiting from this app right away. While it doesn't give you cash in PayPal, you can get your gift cards to Amazon, Walmart, or eBay - which let's face it - makes it just like cash!  There are also tons of more specialized gift cards you can choose from, such as Sephora, GameStop, AMC Theatres, and even Google Play.  There are even a couple options to redeem your points for prepaid Visa or Mastercards, but the exchange rate on these is a little bit lower than every other option.
  • Points are usually based on the original price listed on the receipt - meaning you don't lose out on points by using coupons. If a store lists the original price AND sale price (like Stop and Shop does), it often picks the original price to base your points off of.

Biggest Cons:
  • Only get points for name-brand purchases (except for the 25 point receipt scan bonus!) - no "any brand" or "any item" options like ibotta gives us.  However, the list of brands they are working with keeps expanding. I'm surprised sometimes to see things I didn't get points for buying before I now get points for!
  • I'd rather have a direct-money-amount reward instead of points. It seems like an extra step to complicate things. I get over that, however, with this app because the functionality of the whole process is so easy.

If you want to give receipt scanning a try but think ibotta is too much work, then this is the one for you. If you are already using any receipt scanning apps, then use this one also! You can stack your receipt against all of the different apps to get rewards from all of them! (I scan every receipt to ibotta, Fetch, and Checkout 51).

My Frequency of Use:  Every Grocery Receipt
